It was great fun watching two non-full-member teams facing each other in the Asia Cup last night. I felt that the match was better than the India vs Pakistan match, as this game had a good first innings that was better than Pakistan’s innings yesterday.
These games are great examples of fun and quiet games where the games are pretty calm and not that intense!
This game shows that even amongst associate countries, the scores could be really high, even though the match be very slow and peaceful.
The UAE scored more than 170, which is a par score on their home ground. This was a big improvement from their previous game, where they were bundled out for 57 against India.
Even though the opposition was a weaker Oman side, thanks to the half-centuries by both the openers, Alishan Sharafu & skipper Muhammad Waseem, they put up a match-winning 172!
Junaid Siddique’s 4-for helped the hosts easily win this by 42 runs, and the UAE have registered their first points.
Even though a lot of people may not have watched these matches, such contests are important to make sure the cricket gets developed and famous in many countries.
